After a rather long ride of six hours from Fort William to Liverpool (the Mersey Queensway Tunnel is seen in the chase at the beginning of the seventh movie, when Hagrid and Harry flee from the Deatheaters - but not worth a visit) you get to rest for about eight hours - that is the time your ferry will need to take you from Liverpool to Dublin. Enjoy a couple of Cappuccino or a good nap before going ashore on the green island. From Dublin you will go west to Doolin. Although there are only two Harry Potter movie locations in Ireland, you should try it and maybe add a few muggle sights to your bucket list.

Trinity College Dublin

"But I AM the chosen one."

The Trinity College in the heart of Dublin has a beautiful library. So beautiful, it became a movie location for Harry Potter. Harry earns Hermiones disapproval in here because he feels a little too flattered by Romilda.

Cliffs of Moher

“What do you think?” asked Dumbledore. He might have been asking Harry’s opinion on whether it was a good site for a picnic.

Take a walk from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher and feel the cliffs rise and become more and more powerful. Dumbledore and Harry apparate here and swim to the entry of a cave to find one of Voldemort's horcruxes. Swimming is not recommended, unless you wish to die a rather painful death.

Muggle sights

Ireland is full of gorgeous places like Achille Island, Carrauntoohil, the Aran Islands or Connemara. Take your time and don't forget to drop in at an irish pub - Tig Coili in Galway would be a good place to try some muggle drinks. No butterbeer or firewhiskey is served.
